My children did not get Cradle Cap as infants, so I can't tell you first hand about a treatment. However, I think the Cradle Cap will go away eventually on it's own--by 8-12 mos of age.
I looked up DrGreene and read his views on Cradle Cap. Cradle Cap appears on infant's scalps because the new skin cells are growing faster than the old cells can come off. The old cells then get dry and crusty. If soap and water and a little scrubbing don't help, try some baby oil and let that sit on the infants head a while to soften up the old skin cells. Then take a soft brush and try to scrub it off. Once removed, frequent shampooing and scrubbing may help.
Other than that, just letting time take over, and eventually it will go away on it's own. It is usually not itchy or irritating, just not great to look at!
I sell products from "Grandma El" in my store BestBabyThings and her ointment product is called Diaper Rash Remedy and Prevention. There are several uses for this ointment other than diaper rash. Cradle Cap was mentioned here. You can read more about it on my site.

Wonderful post! Very informative. :) Thanks.
My first born never had cradle cap but my second one did. A bit of soft brushing removing it all very easily.
